Coronaviruses: past, present and future threats to human and animals

Coronaviruses are important pathogens of humans and animals. Before the emergence of SARS-CoV-1, the first highly pathogenic human coronavirus, information was very scarce about human coronaviruses, whereas there was extensive knowledge in veterinary medicine about animal coronaviruses, their evolution and pathobiology. The lecture summarizes the impact of coronaviruses on human and animal health.
