Posizione attuale: Professore Associato S.S.D Vet/01 - Anatomia degli Animali Domestici – Dipartimento di Medicina Veterinaria, Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro. (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale alle Funzioni di Professore Ordinario). Interessi di Ricerca: gametogenesi, cicli riproduttivi e maturità sessuale nei pesci. Proliferazione ed apoptosi delle cellule germinali. Alterazioni della gametogenesi e dello sviluppo in pesci allevati. Identificazione, caratterizzazione, isolamento e proliferazione in vitro delle cellule germinali staminali in pesci allevati. Scheletogenesi e determinazione dell’età in pesci di interesse commerciale. Biomarkers istologici di esposizione a stress ed inquinanti ambientali in pesci di interesse commerciale. Responsabilità in progetti di ricerca internazionali: Identification of broodstock performance indicators and markers to boost the aquaculture of emerging fish species (BESTBROOD).
