Biography

I joined the University of Bari “Aldo Moro” in December 2020 where I was a Junior Researcher (RTD-A) in English Language and Translation from 2020 to 2023. Here, I was in charge of a research project on the mismatch between the market of specialised translation and the educational needs of students of specialised translation (POR PUGLIA FESR-FSE 2014/2020). Prior to this role, I served as an Adjunct Professor of English Language at the Medical Departments of the University of Foggia (2019/2020). Before my academic appointment, I taught English in secondary schools in Arezzo, first as a supply teacher (2005/2014) and since 2024 as a full teacher. For my MA, I studied Foreign Languages (English, French and Spanish) at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” (1998/2003), after which I pursued a DPhil in English Literature at the University of Pisa (2013/2017).

Teaching and Theses Supervision

At ungraduated levels, I currently teach across the following lecture courses: English linguistics (semantics and syntax) and ecolinguistics for the L11 (Foreign Languages, Cultures and Literatures) and theory of translation, focusing on the Italian translations of William Shakespeare’s sonnets, for the L10 (Humanities) and the L42 (History). I would welcome supervision dissertations on all aspects of contemporary fiction, postcolonial literatures in English, trauma studies, affect studies, ecolinguistics, environmental humanities, Victorian fiction, and Renaissance poetry.

Biografia

Sono entrato a far parte dell'Università degli Studi di Bari “Aldo Moro” nel dicembre 2020 dove per tre anni (2020/2023) sono stata Ricercatore Junior (RTD-A) in Lingua e Traduzione Inglese e sono stato responsabile di un progetto di ricerca sul mismatch tra il mercato della traduzione specializzata e le esigenze formative degli studenti di traduzione specializzata in Puglia (POR PUGLIA FESR-FSE 2014/2020). In precedenza, ho ricoperto il ruolo di professore a contratto di Lingua Inglese presso il Dipartimento di Medicina dell'Università di Foggia (2019/2020). Prima del mio incarico accademico, ho insegnato inglese nelle scuole secondarie di Arezzo, prima come insegnante a contratto (2005/2014) e dal 2024 come insegnante di ruolo. Sono laureato in Lingue e Letterature Straniere (inglese, francese e spagnolo) presso l'Università di Napoli “L'Orientale” (1998/2003), dopodiché ho conseguito un dottorato di ricerca in Letteratura inglese presso l'Università di Pisa (2013/2017).

Didattica e supervision per le tesi

Insegno linguistica inglese (semantica e sintassi) ed ecolinguistica nella classe L11 (Lingue, culture e literature straniere) e teoria della traduzione, concentrandomi sulle traduzioni italiane dei sonetti di William Shakespeare, per la classe L10 (Lettere) e L42 (Storia). Supervisiono tesi di laurea su tutti gli aspetti della narrativa contemporanea, delle letterature postcoloniali in inglese, degli studi sul trauma, degli studi sugli affeti e sul trauma, dell’ecoloniguistica, della narrativa vittoriana e della poesia rinascimentale.
