Jean Monnet Lab: 2022/2023 (Second Edition: Academic year 2022/2023)

Introduction

 

The Jean Monnet Lab 2023/2023 edition is part of the program of Soft Skills Courses provided by the University of Bari.  Therefore, it is open to all students enrolled in bachelor, master, doctoral programs at the University of Bari Aldo Moro. Activities are also addressed to external students with high school certificate.

 

 Participants during the lab will be involved in three types of activities:

 

  • Preparatory seminars, where an introduction to reception policies, as well as social research methodologies and human rights monitoring, will be provided.

 

  • Field visits, where students will have the opportunity to visit reception facilities for migrants and asylum seekers in the Apulia region.

 

 

  • Focus groups with local key stakeholders (especially managing bodies and authorities responsible for migration governance, beneficiaries).

 

(d)  Data analysis seminars. Here students will learn techniques on how to develop a research report.

 

The objective of the laboratory is a collective research report drafting by identifying the main challenges to the protection of human rights envisaged by current migration management practices in border areas as well as best practices to reduce the risks of infringement.

 

2022/2023 Edition schedule

 

The Jean Monnet Lab will be held from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM in Room XX, on the second floor of Palazzo del Prete, at P.zza Cesare Battisti 1, Bari.
